Southern Belle Peter Pan Style

I'm writing from one of my all time favorite breakfast places of all time, 5th Street Patio Cafe in downtown Frisco. This is a little hidden gem of the city. If you're in the area or ever visit, it's a must stop.
Yesterday Adam and I went to buy our wedding bands and I ended up missing my second dress fitting because of a small catastrophe, but that's all fixed now. Everyone knows southern belles are sweet until you mess up something of theirs. Anyway, after that, I needed some stress relief and Adam needed new shorts, so shopping was on the agenda. I snagged the most perfect dress to date! I say that about every dress I think. This truly impressed me though. I love lace and the fact that this dress had a coral Peter pan collar stole the show. I'm not usually a fan of shift dresses because they don't give me enough shape, but this one fit! Franchesca's Boutique is honestly a hit or miss for me because of sizing. I will probably have a part two since I got two outfits, but only one to show! Enjoy!

I've Got Sunshine

Hello lovelies! I promised you I'd update when my fabulous necklace arrived and it has! I can't express how beautiful it is. A big gold and mint statement necklace goes great when wanting to play a casual outfit up a little or make your already pristine look look to die for. If you've never heard of Anna's Armoire you should check it out! She auctions off jewelry from her Facebook page every Sunday night at 9pm Eastern. I landed this beauty for $26 flat! It even came with matching earrings.
You might have already guessed that I am a bold color lover. Who says blondes can't wear yellow? Non-sense. I love lemon yellow, mustard yellow, pale yellow...in fact pale yellow is one of my wedding colors. Well, without further ado...here's what I promised you!
Until next time, heart-breakers

Happiness Is In The Small Things

This week I received my first birchbox ever! I am so excited to be receiving one monthly. If you've never heard of it, go check it out here and use me as a referral! If you love trying new beauty products of all kinds, this is for you. One of the things in the box was a lip/cheek stain by Stainiac. It's a punchy pink color that polishes off any look and adds a little sass. My polish of the week is Essie's Splash of Grenadine. I can't explain how much I love this color! I added some fun seafoam polka dots for a little extra fun :) I should be receiving an amazing necklace this week...and as soon as it comes, you'll be the first to see.
Until next time, heart-breakers

Oh my Mint!

I could hardly wait to post this blog. It's a short one, but worth your while! I scored this beautiful mint hi-low dress at Zara yesterday and was elated. Mint and coral have my heart. I also never credit my right arm for having its own party. I keep it simple and gold like much of everything else. I love my Franchescas boutique cuff!
Until later my little heart-breakers!

Bold and Simple

I was having an Essie craving yesterday and found exactly what I needed to satisfy me! I stumbled upon "Love and Acceptance" and then I saw Orly had a rose gold glitter polish and I grabbed that one too. I just think the muted purple and rose gold combination seems sweet and romantic, so I created this little color palate to bring some sweetness to summer.
There's also nothing better than having that one dress in your closet that says it all AND it's simple. I love a little simplicity in my life. My blue and coral combination was perfect for a walk in the park, it's definitely on my top 5 favorite color combos of all time for summer!

Pretty Pretty Princess

As a woman, I love beauty products. I'll try anything once. So, I signed up for birchbox. I am pretty excited about this and can't wait to receive my first one. I think for only $10 a month to get products to try that are picked just for you is a GREAT deal! I've been using some new products lately that I am loving. I switch so frequently, but I love finding that product that is a staple.

Staple: I rant and rave about Bare Minerals every chance I get. I feel like I'm hardly wearing make-up. It gives a weightless feeling and doesn't look cakey. I also like that this is effortless. I don't think make-up application should be hard work at all!
I will admit, I have never been a fan of blush. I actually have never cared to wear it. So, for the first time in 22 years, I caved in to blush. I am SO glad that I did! I wanted a warm/coral/natural tone and this is exactly what it is. Along with that, I like a pretty lipgloss to polish off a look. The sample mascara I was given however, I really wasn't a fan of. It went on too wet and dries with lashes clumped. My all time favorite is actually made by L'oreal (Voluminous False Lashes).
MAC blush: Melba   MAC mascara: Zoom   MAC cremesheen glass: Just superb

I am southern so naturally I am a hairspray queen. I style my hair every day, so I need a hairspray that does a great job. I don't know how I went through life without Kenra 25.
Naked by Urban Decay must be one of the best eyeshadow palates on the planet. I use a lot of bronze and gold because I have green eyes and I think it gives a great affect without being too harsh. For only $50 there are a ton of colors that will last for quite a while. Definitely worth the investment.
Lastly, my hair is difficult to deal with. It's dry and needs a lot of nourishment. For a while, I was making my own hair mask out of food. Well, Lush saved me a lot of time by already doing this for me. The hair mask I bought is GREAT! Leave it on for 20 minutes and your hair is transformed into silk.

Your turn! Share your favorites with me.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

I am a lover of anything vintage and interesting, especially 50's-70s decor. To completely transform my living room without paying thousands of dollars for items that are recreated from that time period, I look at estate sales. It's amazing what I've found and so are the prices! It's neat to have someones little piece of history added to your life. I did have to search some antique stores for certain pieces and had my eye on these fabulous turquoise pintucked pillow from Urban Outfitters, BUT 95% is all from estate/garage sales. It took a little while to build, but it was totally worth it. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure :)

Mid century modern credenza. This little baby was such a steal from a garage sale for $50! On top of that, it was in perfect condition. If any of you know how expensive MCM furniture is...I'm sure your mouth just hit the floor at that price!

Tons of fun knick-knacks. My personal favorite are the owl playing cards and the 60's salt and pepper shaker

I am a pillow freak! This middle pillow was actually gifted to me by a friend. I saw it on her couch she got from a garage sale and fell in love.

This is my prized possession (that I add to all the time). First of all..my couch is an original tufted couch from the 70's in burnt orange. I was not a fan of that color at first, but now I LOVE it. Anything I can find that is true vintage or vintage inspired I will hang on this wall. Most of the frames I repainted myself.
SO tell me/share with me your thrift/garage sale/estate sale finds. How creative have you gotten?

The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side

I have been on the fence about creating a blog for a while now, but today I decided to take the plunge. I like the idea of sharing my ideas, inspirations, fashion, music taste, home decor, etc with everyone. In turn, it will be a cool experience to see what others have to offer. There's only about 4 months left until I tie the knot, so I imagine I will have a ton to share with all the DIY projects I'm doing for this wedding. This weekend has been all about wedding planning, but I found a little space to squeeze some joy into.
I am the biggest nail polish fiend on the planet probably. I like all colors and there is NO such thing as too many bottles of nail polish. I particularly fell in love with these green hues, something about green is soothing and relaxing. Since I was in need of this, I had to have these colors. I am a huge fan of Essie nail polish!
